With this objective in mind, NGVA Europe commissioned Frontier Economics to conduct a brand new study. This study aims at demonstrating the concrete benefits of gas in transport by analysing the balance between emissions reductions and relative costs in a larger perspective of technological solutions.
Following the presentation of the study, MEP Søren Gade (Renew Europe, Member of the TRAN Committee) held a keynote speech:
MEP Søren Gade: “Biomethane is one of the most cost-efficient ways to contribute to the decarbonisation process at the lowest possible cost to society.
We shouldn't pick the winners and therefore have a technology neutral approach. The path to climate neutrality will be driven by more than one technology.”
Afterwards, the panel discussion with industry representatives, policy makers and other relevant stakeholders took place. In detail, the speakers were as follows:
Claus Sauter – CEO, VERBIO Vereinigte BioEnergie AG
Mats Hultman – Head of OEM Partnerships – Innovation and R&D, Neste Corporation
Catherine Girard – Expert Leader, Energy and Raw Materials, Renault
Michele Ziosi – Vice President Institutional Relations, CNH Industrial
