User-friendly online training which drivers can take at their own pace consisting of 5 modules covering: 1 - What is natural gas, 2 - Risk prevention, 3 - Storage and distribution equipment, 4 - Refueling and 5 - Troubleshooting.
This training has been created to serve as a tool for employers to fulfil their obligation of training their employees. The registration can be done in bulk for multiple persons, or on an individual basis.
NGVA, together with its members, has developed this training to serve as a single European centralized training on the topic. As such, it is intended to avoid drivers having to take multiple trainings with different operators

This training is intended to provide information on how to safely refuel an LNG vehicle and avoid damage and incidents.
As such, the training walks the drivers through 5 modules, all related to LNG refueling, explained below.
At the end of each module, the trainee is presented with a quiz based on the information presented in the module. A score of 80% or more is necessary to for successful completion. Multiple attempts are possible. Upon successful completion, a personalized certificate will be issued electronically.

This module introduces natural gas and LNG as a fuel for trucks This module also explains the characteristics and physical properties of natural gas, in its liquid and gaseous state. The last part of the first module covers the potential risks of LNG.
The second module of this training helps you understand how to protect yourself, using personal protective equipment. Furthermore, it goes into detail on how to prevent the risk of fire at the station.
In this module, we present the LNG station design. You will also learn about the characteristics of the LNG engine, as well as the protection and safety devices for tanks. Finally, there is a presentation of the LNG dispenser equipment.
When it comes to refueling, there are two main vehicle refueling procedures, both of which are covered in this training. The first one is for the one with separate vapour return as used for IVECO-SCANIA and the second one is for the VOLVO vehicles, where the vapour return is done via the LNG nozzle.
The last module of this training deals with troubleshooting and intervention in case of incidents. The training includes a presentation of a few cases of incidents and how to safely deal with them.
Currently, the training is available in English, French and German. More languages will be developed in due time.

We have designed this training so that drivers can go at their own pace. This means that there is no limit to how fast someone needs to complete the training.
As a general guide, it would take around 1h-1.5h to complete the training at a normal pace.
Please note that this training is not yet officially recognised by authorities.
NGVA Europe and its members are working towards establishing it as the official LNG refueling training, however, this process is still in development. If and when this changes, we will provide further information on this website.
Yes, upon successful completion of the quiz, each trainee will automatically receive a personalized certificate of completion indicating the training, when it was taken and by whom.
