GasOn

The GasOn project aims to develop advanced CNG only, mono-fuel engines able to comply with the '2020+' CO2 emission targets. It claims a 20% CO2 emissions reduction against current 'best-in-class' CNG vehicles, segment by segment.

The project aims to fulfill the new homologation cycle and to guarantee low fuel consumption, even in real driving conditions. To reach these targets, starting from the lessons learnt through previous INGAS project (www.ingas-eu.org) (funded under EU FP7), the GasOn project is based on three parallel technology pathways that will lead to development of demonstrator engines. The synergetic integration of technologies, together with CNG direct injection, boosts efficiency at low engine speed thereby delivering benefits to both performance and CO2 emissions reduction.
