Brussels, 24 September 2020 – Today, the NGVA Europe General Assembly has renewed the Executive Board, and Dr Timm Kehler was elected as the association's new President.
Dr Timm Kehler has been serving as Chairman and CEO of Germany’s leading gas advocacy group “Zukunft ERDGAS e. V.” since 2013. Before today’s election and since May 2018, he has held the position as Senior Vice President at NGVA Europe to further promote the benefits of natural gas mobility on a European level.
Accepting his new role, President Kehler commented:
“I am honored to succeed Philippe Van Deven (ENGIE) as President of NGVA Europe. As priorities of my election period I would like to maintain the focus of the association on the upcoming reviews of the CO2-regulation and continue the development of NGVA Europe towards climate-neutral gases.”
He succeeds Philippe Van Deven (ENGIE) who held the office since May 2018.
Further to the appointment of the new President, with the renewal of the Executive Board, Nadège Leclercq (Westport Fuel Systems) was elected as Senior Vice President. John Wilson (Total) became new Secretary of the Board. Christian Hoellinger (Shell) is joining Lennart Pilskog (Volvo) and Michele Ziosi (CNH Industrial) as Vice-Presidents.
Celebrating today’s elections, Secretary General Andrea Gerini stated:

Brüssel, 24. September 2020 – Die Generalversammlung der NGVA Europe hat heute ihren Vorstand neu gewählt und Dr. Timm Kehler zum neuen Präsidenten der Vereinigung ernannt.
Dr. Timm Kehler ist seit 2013 Vorstand und Geschäftsführer von Zukunft ERDGAS e.V., der Brancheninitiative der deutschen Gaswirtschaft. Seit Mai 2018 ist er bereits Senior Vice President der NGVA Europe, sodass er bereits die Vorteile der Erdgasmobilität auch auf europäischer Ebene fördern konnte.
Präsident Kehler hat die Wahl angenommen und kommentiert dazu:
„Ich fühle mich geehrt, die Nachfolge von Philippe Van Deven (ENGIE) als Präsident der NGVA Europe anzutreten. Die Prioritäten meiner Wahlperiode möchte ich auf die anstehenden Überprüfungen der europaweiten CO2-Flottenreglierung legen sowie die Entwicklung der NGVA Europe hin zu klimaneutralen Gasen fortsetzen."
Er tritt die Nachfolge von Philippe Van Deven (ENGIE) an, der das Amt seit Mai 2018 innehatte.
Im Anschluss an die Ernennung des neuen Präsidenten und die Erneuerung des Vorstands wurde Nadège Leclercq (Westport Fuel Systems) zum Senior Vice President gewählt. John Wilson (Total) wurde neuer Secretary. Christian Hoellinger (Shell) schließt sich Lennart Pilskog (Volvo) und Michele Ziosi (CNH Industrial) als Vice President des Vorstands an.
Zur Feier der heutigen Wahlen erklärte Generalsekretär Andrea Gerini:
"Ich freue mich, den neuen Vorstandsmitgliedern und Dr. Timm Kehler zu seiner neuen Position als Präsident der NGVA Europe zu gratulieren. Herr Kehler wird dadurch seine Erfahrung und Vision in eine entscheidende Phase der Diskussionen über die Zukunft des Transportsystems einbringen können.
Gleichzeitig möchte ich mich auch bei Philippe Van Deven bedanken, der den Verband in den vergangenen zwei Jahren erfolgreich geleitet und der NGVA Europe einen wertvollen Beitrag zur Förderung der notwendigen Rolle des Gases im Transport in Europa geleistet hat".
