NGVA Europe participates in various EU-funded projects which typically last for three to four years and are partially funded by the European Union. European projects can be scientifically based or market driven programmes with various European partners working together.
These projects include new or improved engine concepts and fuel efficiency, biomethane as a transport fuel, gas production and storage or studies on customer behaviour and market development.
NGVA Europe has initiated and currently participates in the LNG Blue Corridors project on the use of LNG in heavy duty trucks by commercial fleet operators. The overall objective is to demonstrate the possibility to establish natural gas as the main alternative fuel to diesel in European long-distance transport and trucking.
The NGVA furthermore informs its members and provides guidance on available funding opportunities to create their own projects, through opportunities provided by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), the Green Vehicles Initiative, part of the Horizon 2020 programme or other funding tools of the European Commission.
