NGVA Europe initiative: gmobility

NGVA Europe's gmobility community platform aims to inform and discuss the benefits of gas in transport to and with customers.

Driving a natural gas-fuelled vehicle reduces CO2 emissions and improves air quality

Natural gas as a transport fuel offers important benefits to consumers, the environment and to the economy as a whole.

Gas as a transport fuel

Natural gas is a fundamental player in a low-carbon future: clean combustion, low carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions (even carbon-neutral when renewable gas applies), technology maturity, availability and competitive fuel cost are key factors to boost the role of natural gas. Through compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG), a complete range of applications can be supported, from small city cars up to long-haulage trucks, as well as in the maritime sector.

Natural gas: a solution for a clean and decarbonized transport system

Our future transport system asks for a set of solutions where the role of clean and low carbon fuel is key fundamental. Natural gas technologies are one of the most effective alternatives to Diesel in the heavy-duty sector. They are fully compatible with the use of renewable gas, thus accelerating the decarbonization process.

What NGVA Europe stands for

NGVA Europe strives to encourage EU decision-makers to create fair regulations and accurate standards on issues pertinent to the developments of gas in transport. Using gas in transport contributes to improving air quality and achieving decarbonisation. Gas can also be renewable, accelerating transport decarbonisation with clean, carbon-neutral mobility.

Reducing CO2 emissions significantly

Natural gas blended with biomethane or synthetic gas (power-to-gas) from renewable sources can reduce CO2 emissions significantly, up to 95%.

Biomethane and synthetic gas (from the gasification and power-to-gas processes) are renewable energy sources with very low carbon footprints; when applied as fuels, they allow gas vehicles to run carbon-neutral.

Who we are

NGVA Europe is a European association promoting the use of natural and renewable gas as a fuel in transport

gmobilty is an institutional initiative by NGVA Europe with the aim to relaunch and affirm the role of natural gas in transport, a new brand answering the need to promote a new cultural approach towards an integrated an inclusive system for gas in transport.

gmobility embraces CNG, LNG, together with all kinds of renewable gases, looking from personnel mobility to freight transport.

Find your gas fuelling station

NGVA Europe’s flagship product – a map of CNG and LNG fuelling stations across Europe – provides real-time information on the development of natural gas fuelling stations in Europe. The map is continuously updated and improved to reflect the current situation on the number of CNG and LNG filling stations in operation or planned.

NGVA Europe stands for a united and strong voice in Europe for the NGV industry. It safeguards its interests and aims to expand the market through political and technical decisions and creating funding opportunities or other incentives.
